Autumnal Walk Rivington

Landscape & Intimates

Over the past 20 years one of my favourite recreational types of photography is in the great outdoors. Spending time venturing around local woodland. Looking for lesser-visited landscapes, or secret spots in a national park presents new challenges for any photographer.

Where I live, Southport in Merseyside, it’s coastal town with many historic buildings and iconic landmarks. I love to capture that history, the beauty and the magnificent engineering that created it in the first place.

Whether it’s a trip North Wales or the Peak District, I’m always excited to see something new and take home a unique memory. If I plan a longer adventure I research like crazy! Every possible viewpoint, pathway with potential, or landmark that marks the story of the area is saved and bookmarked for visiting.

Treading on ground that has been untouched for years, or capturing a shot that others would overlook, fills me with a sense of true creation. I don’t shoot for popularity, trends or familiarity, as good photography is more substance over style.
